Diminutive Marcela Fiorillo, packs a musical punch that belies her size ! The range of expression she can extract from a piano is quite remarkable, all the way from an almost whisper to a torrent of power. World premiere of Marcela Fiorillo’s “ Poema Místico” included in the Program, is poetic from beginning to end and mystery has the listener constantly moving forward to the edge of the seat. It is an excellent concert piece that tests artistic virtuosity.

Passionate Music of Brazil and Argentina. Fiorillo’s playing throughout was technically superb and full of passion, idiomatic coloring and phrasing.

Standing ovation !
Her recital drew conclusively on all of those qualities in a thoughtfully constructed program, which included the world premiere of her own composition, commissioned by the Weereewa Festival Committee, “ Suite Weereewa,Op 3”. The sustained standing ovation was testament to its consummate success.

Spiritual: Marcela Fiorillo’s playing was vibrant and evocative!
… Fiorillo demonstrated that despite her slight build, she is technically capable of mastering the demanding physicality of these scores, which is necessary to unlock the musical meaning.
The most important event of the evening was the premiere of Fiorillo’s Suite Weereewa op.3. Fiorillo has created a work that will live on.
